what were the changes in these 2 years? the pipe on ebay i am in for says it came off a 96 sport and will fit them clear up to a 98..... i didnt think that there were any changes???

 

i was wanting an HPD or AAEN pipe soon but i dont want to buy one from their sites....just yet if i dont have to.... the description of this pipe says..

This is a used Aaen Performance pipe for a Polaris Sport or Scrambler 400. It came off a 1996 Polaris Sport 400. It will fit 1996-1998 Sport 400 and 1995-1997 Scrambler 400. Will not fit newer models or 250 or 500 models


so i dunno, it LOOKS like it will fit, but i guess not, you guys think there is any way to make it fit or anything?

im kind of bummed because this is a good deal on a good pipe so ill be looking for one again......if any of you 400 guys have one that you want to get rid of or have one and are switching or something....send me a PM please

I think the concentric drive models used different pipes.

 

i would call Aaen they would know, the stock pipes are still the same from all the diff years...

 

It will be the mounting of the pipe an an how it snakes around the frame an to fit the plastic.

 

you guys think its possiblle to MAKE it fit? like drill new holes in the mounts or actually make new mounts if it comes down to that? im gonna go ahead and get the pipe and see how it all works out
