can anybody tell me how much lighter the front aluminum bumper from polaris is than the stock one on my '04 scrammy 500...is it worth buying in terms of the weight that will be taken off?

Aluminum is about 1# and a half....the steel is about 5 ....so roughly 3-4#s different. I think it is worth it, but it will bend alot easier.

the aluminum one is 200 bucks!!!! i just replaced mine a few months ago. ran into a tree. rediculously priced! but i think they look alot better than the steel ones and they weigh less.

so its a toss up.

Do a magnet check on your stock bumper and make sure it's not aluminum already. Mine is a '01 and it's aluminum.

 

I was going to get a polaris aluminum from bumper like scramblerxrated's. But tere was no way I was paying $200 for a front bumper so then i just went with a DG, I still like the looks of the polaris aluminum bumper tho...
