Floodrunner has a home page that tells in detail how to wire 3 lights together. He also has some other neat mods on his site. You can find him by doing a search for floodrunner. He always attaches a link to see his pictures. Click on it and go to his odd & ends folder and it will be there. It worked for me.

Your generator (often called "alternator" by most writers) may not have sufficent output to run all 3 headlamps.... especially if you are running your engine fairly slow such as through the woods. I don't believe you stated your make & model ATV but some early Polaris, such as my 97 Explorer 500, have a 100 watt generator which may not be enough at slow speeds for 3 headlamps. Newer ATVs have higher output I believe such as 150W or 200W. Al

derhtr1,
Sorry I missed your followup on the last post. Stepped off the planet for a few days while the foundation was poured for our new house.
No, do not cut the wires. Simply strip a short section. Tie the two diodes together side by side (with the cathodes of the two diodes oriented the same way). Connect one end to the green wire, the other to the yellow. Follow the instructions in the last post.
This mmod is very, very simple. It will take 20 minutes, if you really do it slowly.
This method will cost you under $5.00 and it is dead simple. Using a relay is more complicated. Besides the mechanical relay is prone to fail under vibration.
The Sportsman has plenty of power to run the 60W main light and the two 30W lower lights at the same time. The 4 of us here use the 3 light system all the time and have never run a battery down.
Any more questions, just ask. I'll answer if you get to me before the framers arrive Sept 5th. LOL
