Carburetor Trouble
#1
I have just purchased a 2000 Trail Blazer 250, and it has what I think is a jetting issue. It will idle normally, but if I open the throttle at all, it will bog and die. I pulled the airbox cover, and it looks like fuel is blowing back into the airbox. I have never seen this happen before, and I was hoping someone here would know the cause.

Thanks, I suspected that, but don't know where to start. I just pulled the carb apart, and the only thing I noticed was the main jet is a 160, and the stock size should be a 130. I thought that would make it too rich at the top end of the throttle, not the bottom end.

What color is your plug? It sounds too rich...have you adjusted the clip?
I've had the same problem with my sportsman 400 carb. I jetted down (150 for my elevation), installed a new main jet (40), installed a needle jet, jet needle, adjusted the air screw, and I raised the clip up 2 notches. The only problem I still have, is it doesn't want to start (cold) not without a pullstart. Damn thing...I give up. Other than that, it runs great (warm).
Anyone have any advice?
