Default '96 425 Magnum question

I know I have read in the past where the rev limiter on this machine can get flaky and cause all kinds of problems. I believe this is happening to me right now. What is the easiest way to disconnect or bypass the rev limiter? Where is the rev limiter? I think I heard its under the rack, if so, where? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Do a search in this forum for reverse override. You will find instructions on how to disable the rev limiter module. Basically you have to cut the power wire to the limiter, and short accross the reverse override switch (Bypass it) but I forget the colour of the wires you need to do this too. It worked great on mine.

The rev limiter is either under the rack or just inside the front side splash panel. It is a flat rectangular box with wires comming out of it.Follow the black wire to the wire block and unplug it.This will eliminate the override limiter but you will still need to hold the button for 4x4 in reverse.

Thanks for all your help and quick responses - this forum is the best! I found and read the previous posts regarding the rev limiter before, but I felt they were kind of vague. In one they talk about cutting the wire from the override button, another says to disconnect the black wire (which is what I will do), and yet another says to buy some diodes. Right now, disconnecting the black wire from the rev limiter to the junction box sounds easiest / best to do.

Got to watch some of these hi tech guysBut on the later models you have to do all that because of the way everything runs through the headlight pod.
