Can someone tell me the secret to remove the starter from my 300 xplorer

 

u gotta take off the flywheel cover and i think the flywheel adn u can pull it through there

 

Yup, pull off the right hand side (chain side) footpad/guard. take off the 10 or so 10mm bolts that hold on the recoil housing. Then it is held in by 2 or 3 bolts.

Then, have the bottom plate off the ATV (6 3/8" bolts I think) and disconnect the power wire and drop it out. Pretty simple project really.
