Default 2004.5 Winch wont work with burushguard ?????

i just bought my 2004.5 Sp 500, and after putting on my old Warn plow mount, and thne the brush guard, noticed that they are incompatible. If i use the plow with the brushguard, it is going to rub the upper bar. According to the webiste at Polaris, this bumper is compatible with the Warn plow system. Am I missing something here? Anyone. Dealer wasn't much help, said he deals with mostly Polaris brand plows, didn't know much about the Warn system.
Anybody got any ideas???? Thanks in advance!!

is it the wrap around brush guard, of so is it hitting on the lower tube deflector. I had to cut the small tube off to get it to work on some models. this may not be ur situation, but this may help.

Yes, it's the wrap around brush guard, but it's hitting the upper tube, the one just below the winch, the winch cable and hook need to go straight down to lift up the plow, and the upper and actually lower tubes are in the direct line below the winch. I'm assuming I instalht, and have the right one. I bought it off eBay from a dealer. After looking at the bumpers closer on Polaris website, I actually have the brushguard that is pictured for the 2003 Sportsman 700, generation IV+. The only difference I can see is the one supposively made for the 04.5s has four total tubes, one above and just below the winch, and third approx. 5 inches below the second, and last, it has another smaller tube that runs off the lowest tube. the one I have only has the three total tubes, it doesn't have the 4th small tube coming off the third one, if that makes sense to everybody.
Basically, the bumper I have looks identical to the one pictured for 2003 700 only (item# 2874195), and looks different from the one for the 04 and 04.5s (item# 2874433), but had the right item number on the box it came in, and had directions for 500s, 600s, and 700s. I don't know if I have the wrong bumper or what, after looking closer on the website, I can't tell.
Anyone who might be able to shed some light on this, please do so. Maybe it's just the fact that you can;t use a plow with this type bumper, and maybe they decided not to make two different types of bumpers, and started making just the one i have, I don't know, that's why I'm hoping someone out there can help, amybe someone who owns a dealer and knows the right part numbers and descriptions for the brush guards. Sorry if I confused everyone by trying to explain it.

ohh I getcha now. Ur sayin the fairlead is not sticking out of the grill far enough to allow ur cable to go down to the blade lift without rubbing on the tubing.

Ive seen guys get 1" or 3/4" square stock and use it as spacers to bring out the fairlead further from the winch plate. Just drill out the stock and use loner bolts.

Or rlocate the hook on ur blade to a more foreward position if possible.

Ignore installation instructions! I just went through this too. Use the second set of holes. It will push it back 1/2". The cable will just miss the push tube.
