Default jetting to run

hey, i need to rejet my quad desperately...and i kind of need some baselines...Right now as it is, it is running alittle on the rich side , and i have a 240 main with the needle and pilot jet stock.... after its warmed up sometimes it doesnt like to idle and if i ride below 5mph for long periods of time(like on rides following younger kids) it fouls the spark plug???

I believe the stock jetting is a 240. I am running a 250 now, did have a 260 in but the same thing that was happening to you was happening to me. Now with the 250 the idle is still a little rough but that is just taking the time to adjust my carb. Right now I am running a 250 and the needle clip is set one down to the rich side. Havent fouled one lately but I dont let it sit there and idle either.

i guess i ddint know there was an adjuster on the cable??

could running too high of octane foul plugs? along with the problem of too rich? im heading down to nicholas cycle in about an hour and my shopping list is:

AAEN Green Primary
AAEN Blue Secondary
250, 260 Main jets
38 Pilot jet

EDIT: What is the gap set on the sparkplugs?

for mine its .028-.024 its fouling because too much oil+gas at that part of the throttle.

wat u can do is let it idle and just tap the gas dont let it rev just let it idle hten turn it off quick and pull hte plug and see how it is. i just tuned my carb and its coming out as a tan/light brown

just start it and let it idle untill it warms up to see if its running rich at idle

....well im still gonna go pick up that list of stuff. i turned the mixture screw 1 and a half out from stock and it didnt do it as bad but i could tell it was starting to as i was beginning to lose power towards the end of the day and theres still a dead spot in the range. i'm gonna have it tuned good once i get the pipe on there.
