I just bought the Pure Polaris 600/700 muffler kit PN# 2874650, Designed by White Brothers Racing. According to the directions the jetting does not need to be changed with a stock machine, so I'll just have to see how it runs, I do have the K&N filter too which might make a difference. I hear the machines are set on the rich side at the factory. What do you think? I will check the plugs after installation.
Also the diffuser plates I have heard can be added and removed to tune the silencer, is this more for sound or airflow? Nothing in the directions about this.

Hi Jim...
Your 700 IS jetted a bit rich from the factory. They tend to sway to the cautious side (rich) because they just jet them for all "around performance" for "most locations". After the muffler install, you "may" have to play with the jetting, but I highly doubt it. And your K&N filter shouldn't make that big a difference. Change out your plugs to some new ones to get a good baseline, then just keep track of the coloring. I'd be happier (and the motor too) to be just a shade on the rich side... Too lean is a disaster waiting to happen...
You can add or remove discs to alter flow. Adding discs increase flow (for top end) which in turn also increase the noise level. Removing discs, decreases flow and noise, and tunes the can more for bottom end by increasing back pressure. I suggest you just run it as is and keep an eye on the plugs. Your motor will let you know what it likes...
But be careful!!! To get the "sound" that you want may not be the flow the motor wants....
