How about a light bar like the one that Kolpin sells. Be easy to make with a pipe bender and welder, easy to mount. Would be kewl to have some extra lighting up high. Hate to flip the unit, but then again, thats not a good idea anyways. Here is the link to the unit:

I think if you custom made one, you could make it for your height. It looks like its high enough to accomodate anyone up to 7' tall....lol. I think it would have its applications. You're right, here in NM, it would be good for most riding, but we also have thick woods that it would be a pain in.

I've got the welder, friend has a pipe bender, maybe i'll try something out to see what I can come up with...

Instead of the Kolpin, how about this crazy idea. Strap a couple headlights on your hemet like ear muffs. You could connect them to a break away/disconnect wire connection at your new Ear Lights. Take the other end of the lead and connect it to power off the quad. What do you think I'm smoking?

Hey what if you make one that would fold back? Pull it up when your riding it the open , fold it back when it gets rough. Shoun't be to hard to make.

why not just add some lights to the front rack ... i'm worried that the charging system can't handle too many more lights (i've installed a three head light mod) ... i don't know what the wattage of the charging system is on a 500HO. does anyone?

I don't think I will put anymore on mine because if it is at a idle with the 3 headlights on it will start flashing the battery icon.
