Dosn't anyone wear a helmet?

You know guys, Ive been guilty of NOT wearing my helmet also, especially in this Texas heat. I will say that I always wear it when aggressive riding is planed but for slow poking along with my girlfriend on the back I have not been wearing it. I have a full face helmet now, maybe I should take my girlfriend to look at some open face helmets for BOTH of us, for those days when you THINK you dont need a helmet.
Thanks for opening my eyes.

I definetly wear a helmet with the Scrambler, I've fallen off of it once with the helmet on, not a scratch on me or the helmet. I don't get nearly as radical on the Honda, and admit that I should wear a helmet more often on it.

I sometimes go riding with friends who don't wear helmets, or for that matter any other riding gear. On every serious ride I wear the works when I go. Helmet, goggles, chest protector, jersey, gloves, riding pants, knee/shin guards, and boots. I have no pity for ANYONE who doesn't wear a helmet and crashes. It's their own stupidity. I'll be the first to admit that I don't always wear a helmet. I should, but don't when I'm just putzing around camp or home. When you ride a machine with 60+ horsepower on a serious ride, you have got to have protection.
Several years ago, I gave a couple of parents hell for; #1. not insisting their children wear helmets or any protective gear besides short pants #2. letting both children ride the quad at the same time. and #3. Riding a machine that was WAY too big for them.
I also thanked them for the demise of the three wheelers and the 10 year hiatus of sport quads as it was idiots like them that prompted the bans.
I'm a firm believer in the right to chose whether or not to wear helmets, I just don't want to see people crying every time the bust their heads open like over ripe mellons, or wind up as "trail pizza". It's time people take responsability for their own actions!

One more vote for "always wear your helmet". I've taken a coule of falls when I thought there was no chance of it. You can't buy your life, or your eyes back.
My favorite reason for wearing a helmet........it keeps the mud out of my hair !!

If you ride with your kids, as I do, then you have a responsibility to them to always wear a helmet. If I myself rode without a helmet, what would I say when my 15 year old son wanted to take his off. I just spent about $300 this week on safety gear for my kids because if they were to ever get hurt because I let them ride without the proper gear I could never forgive myself. I see people riding their pre school kids on the back of their quad without a freakin helmet and it amazes me they would think they couldn't get hurt. I was watching a guy a couple of weeks ago going full throttle on his Banshee thru a field that was basically nothing but rocks with no helmet. My son was the one that said to me, can you believe that guy going that fast without a helmet. Life is short, it's not worth taking the chance.

3tv, you say you fell on your head? I think so... Tell me something, is it legal to ride without a helmet in Utah? And if so, why the heck would you put a ten year old on a 300ex? The manufacturer warns against it and most states have legislation to protect the kids under 16 from adults who still think like a 16 year old...

Hey gang!!! I could not resist. I went to WV 2 weeks ago and witnessed two accident. One could have been prevented by the use of goggles. The other accident would have been less severe if the rider would have had a helmet on. For more info about go to my web page. you can reach it at http://community.webtv.net/in2atvn/piedmontatv You will fond the article on page three. Ride Safe

Well fellows I don't wear a helmet but should, I have been thinking on buying one of those beany helmets you always see the harley riders wearing. I do make my almost 3 year old wear a helmet when he is riding with daddy. But you must remember fellows it is your right to wear one or not the choice is yours cause it is going to be your head you save, I think in any state it should be your right to wear a helmet or not because not wearing doesn't danger anybody else except you. And this is coming from a police officer view point. Yes I have went to motorcycle and atv wrecks where if they had been riding with a helmet they would have been less hurt but I still believe it is up to you to wear or not.
