500Shootout result?

Frankly, I think the AC would have come in right ahead of the Suzuki and both of them way back behind the others. They are not as performance oriented. The Grizzly is a 600 so it wasn't invited in the 500 shootout. It would have come in a tie with the Magnum probably. They normally put those two close together for some reason.
Here is how I would rank it
#1 Sportsman
#2 Rubicon
#3 Grizzly- speed does in the mag
#4 Magnum- very close
#5 Traxter- This is a sypathy vote. I don't care what it can pull, its a stupid looking design and would be a handfull to control in a jam. Odd seat and messed up handlebars sway me far from this goofy *** thing.
#6 AC 500- Build quality second only to honda, speed, turning, and traction do it in. Not the best setup to win a shootout.
#7 Suzuki 500- Less than the rest, and not nearly as well thought out as the AC.

Andy,
The grizz and magnum have been in a shootout before, and the magnum took the cake. It wasn't by a huge margin, but I think it was due to better ride and handling. About once a year, a group of guys(including myself) come up to Mena, Ar. Would you like me to let you know next time we're planning a trip? You could stay there at Wolf Pen with us and ride. Let me know if you're interested. I know we don't know each other, but I see that you live in Ar, and we'd be more than glad to let you join us. We usually split the lodging costs and stay 4 per room. Later!! I'd like to ride with a cat to see how they perform.

Waylen,
Our group would like to ride with you guys at wolf pen. Anytime, just let me know. We just got back fro wolf pen Sunday. They have improved many of the jumps. You guys should try lake Greeson also. The accomodations at Greeson are alot nicer and it is about a 55 minute drive to Wolf Pen. Also the trails are alot more technical at Lake Greeson. Anyway, whenever you go, we would love to join you.
We had a little jump competition at the north end of trail 3a. I scared the crap out of myself. I jumped about 35 ft and abotu6 feet high and mysuspension did not bottom out. Thanks you good brakes, I did not eat a tree on the other side of Trail 2 where I landed.

Hey man that might be an idea! Mena isn't too far south of here. Just a short trot down 71. Depending on the timing, I might even be up for that. Problem is, there is no guarantee that I will still be riding a Cat at that point. I'm in hard consideration of a SP500 HO right now. Just going through the motions to justify it. If I do sell the Cat, it may be a month or so before i can even buy a new one. I plan to pay cash this time and not finance. That way, i don't have to register it and pay property tax on it.
