scrambler 500 top speed? tire size? Engine?
#1
I would like to know what the top speed is for the 04/05 scrambler 4x4 500. Also, does the bike have grease fittings? I noticed that the 05 has a taller tire up front, If you put after market tires on do you have to have the front tire stay one inch higher than the rear? How is the Power for this bike? Is it the same engine as the sportman 500HO? Does it have true 4 wheel drive or a diff lock when you put it in 4 wheel drive? I also read from the specs that it only has High/Low/Reverse. Is this a different trans than what is in the sportsman 500HO? And lastly!! How does the trans work and does the cases leak? The 03 AC or (suzuki) that I owned had the auto cvt trans. Is there any difference btwn the cvt and the pvt?
How do you rate your scrambler on the following?
comfort
reliability
speed
handling
braking
climbing
mudding
I really like this quad but I can't find any links or info/reviews for the 04 and 05 models!
Thanks for your time!!

I got 63 mph on gps with mine. The tire size is meant to be that way. It's the way polaris has it set for the 4x4. Don't change the tire size unless you find out from someone which would be the right size. I have the gators on and they are fairly heavy, so they slow me down a bit but they can go anywhere. The stock power is alright but pretty boggy. Once you do some clutching then it will be able to do wheelies like nothing. The scrambler 500 has the same motor as the sportsman and it has true 4x4. The scrambler has good speed, excellent handling, climbing, and awesome for mud bogging. It has great braking power and pretty reliable. The scrambler only has high, neutral and reverse only. It doesn't have low range.

The scrammy is a great quad all around...with mods and things you can possibly look at around 62-66 mph. Its a great trail quad. Good for some mud pits. Tire size has to be the same for the 4 wheel drive..you you move up an inch in the front you have to move up an inch for the back.. I can wheelie on mine without any clutching changes..just with the mods I have...clutching would help make it way easier though...the only downside I have is it is a heavy sucker..but thats what you get with the 4x4....overall a great quad all around...if you get one...a chain tensioner is a must.
