Default 2000 Jug On 97 scrambler 400?

I have a guy that is going to do trail porting and a bore on a 2000 scrambler 400 jug. My question is has any one ever put the new style cylnder on an old style motor... basicly NEW = concentric....old = non concentric. I know they use a differnt carb boot, but other than that what issues will i have?

Might be better off letting Rick Ritter do it. That way you know that you are getting a quality job done right the first time

The 2000 cylinders are identical to the 1997. It is the 1994 , 1995 and early 1996 that are different because of intake angle .

Your mechanic is correct , the 1995 and early 1996 Scramblers had boost bottles . He is also correct that the older cylinders had no boost ports .

Rick

PS - I have ported cylinders in stock ready for exchange . Wait time ----- zippo ----
