ALOT OF YOUR LOCAL AUTO PARTS HOUSES HAVE A MACHINE SHOP. IF YOU HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR PISTON GO WITH A WISECO PISTON. NOT THE STOCK. I DONT KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE SO I CANT HELP WITH EXACT PLACE TO TAKE IT.

You can take it to a local NAPA autoparts shop, or send it off to doug nicholas at nicholas cycle to get it done.......his number is on his stie(www.nicholascycle.com)........Also go with a wiseco like he said.....much more reliable

Default 2 stroke problem

Well, I"m having the same problem, and the polaris dealer quote me $780 for rebuilding the top end. What do you think about this price, and is it worth putting a thousand bucks in this bike? It's high milage, worn a lot, but mostly has run well. Any opinions? Also how much would a wiseco piston add to the cost?
Thanks!

I have seen Wiseco piston kits go for as low as $69.00 to $105.00

$780 to rebuild a 2stroke is ridiculous. $780 should get you a BRAND NEW cylinder and a wiseco and a couple hundred dollars leftover

You could send it out to RCR (www.rittercycle.com), its around 35 to bore/hone out the cylinder and 100 for a wiseco piston. So for $150 including shipping, the top end will be ready to go.
Add in another 15 or so if you need a new upper needle bearing, and 15-30 for a gasket set.
It is very easy to disassemble and reassemble yourself, just make sure to lube everything up well with 2stroke oil.
