Default 97 magnum 425 shift linkage

Anybody ever had to change the shift linkage bushings on the top of the transmission? I'm wondering if this is a common occurence? Mine won't shift into gear any longer, the linkage has to much play and just binds. Had to make up a handle and bolt it directly to the tranny for forward and reverse. If anyone has done this before any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!
