What are the advatages to this over a Carb??? just wondering if it worth the money. i dont change altitude by much..and i would keep it in a heated garage through the winter so is it worth it to me??

Yes, definately worth it......usually the only time a carb is better is when you have your carb really tuned, or you need to tune it for some reason......
The efi will let you have really good response, power, and you will no longer have to rejet with altitude or temp changes.

Just traded in a 2002 Scrambler X for a new 700 Sportsman EFI.
The key things that set it apart from the carb'd model that I've noticed are
*Easier cold starts (no sputter)
*a little Better Mileage
*No Choke (Bradracer18)
and the big thing I noticed most was throttle response... it is immediate and in my opinion well worth it. The option up here between the 700 and 700 EFI was about $700CDN
Hope that helps!!

No choke, starts within 4 cranks everytime and I mean everytime. I have the '05 700 EFI, starts instantly all the time.
Also, better fuel economy, which translates to more riding fun.
Smooth acceleration, every time.
Great consistent power. Instant and consistent each and every time.
Very little difference in performance due to altitude, automatically corrects. I ride anywhere from 5200 feet in elevation up to 13000 feet, works great. When I got my 500 over 10000 feet it would barely run, I had to put a dial-a-jet kit in it and that meant that I had to change settings to get it to run right when I was changing altitudes.

Here is a review that discusses some of the EFI advantages... http://www.atvrideronline.com/quads/100_0402_sportsman/

efi respond only to the setting of the sensor it was dialed-in
in the first place,so you have always the same constant performance
whenever the altitude and temp is.it is a lot more work to reset
an efi for better curve then, but give always a safety process
to make engine run good.
