Default 2 stroke trailboss for the trail?

Was at the dealer today and they were tryin to sell me a 03 trailboss for 3800 before all the bs fees. Would this 2 stroke be ok in slow technical trail conditions? It is new.

I can tell yuo that the 03 Trailboss is a 4 stroke. It is a 330 4 stroke. They have not made the 2 stroke Trailboss since 97-98. The Trailblazer is a 250 2 stroke. The 250 brand new is 3400. The 330 trailboss is 3800 new. So if he is trying to sell you a quad then I think it is the Trailboss. I have a highly moded 250 Trailblazer and an 04 Trailboss. I love the trailboss on the trails. Very comfortable, fast enough and it has racks.

If it's an 03 Boss, you should get a lot better price than that. A new 05 MSRP is 3799. I can't remember for sure, but it seems like the 03 sticker price was around 3500. If it turns out the be the Blazer, I walked out paying 3100(OTD) including some extra stuff I had them throw in. They're both fine on the trail, but the Boss is a lot more comfortable.

it says 400 on it, chain drive. full price was 4999 this place is always high priced on everything, they want 7400 for a 700 kfx before the BS stuff, and wont deal with you either, I just look at their stuff. It is water cooled. It looks very similar to a scrambler. I went to the polaris site and it not listed theire either! I guess if it doesn't exist then parts for it don't either. Thanks guys, glad I checked in here first.

Knowing now that it's a 400 and not a 250, that would make a difference. MSRP for the 400 is 4799. but NADA shows high retail of 3499 for a used one. They stopped making the 400 in 2003, and it's a good quad with lots of potential. Still would think they take a little less. They've been paying inventory tax on this thing for 2 years now, make them an offer and see what they do. By the way, it will run circles around the Trail Boss.

If it is a 2 stroke it will do fine crawling at slow speeds. The 6 X 6's and other 4wheelers used to be powered by a 2 stroke that was approximately 370 cc's. The motor rips. I used to have a Sportsman 4 x 4 with that motor in a 1996 model and I could pull wheelies from a standing start. It was wonderful crawling thru mud as well. The only negative about that motor was like any 2 stroke it did not like to idle for a long time and it liked drinking gas.
