someones knocking
Hello all,
Well I think I know why I got a good deal on my 350 4x2.. after it warms up seems to get a knock to it... definatly comming from the cylinder area... but the funny thing is unlike a car engine where the knock gets worse with RPM/load this seems to go away... any ideas???

I can tell you that what you are hearing is the primary clutch knocking. You will notice it more at idle. All Polaris autos do it. It is the slide buttons on the primary that is worn down so the clutch knocks. The buttons are about 4 bucks and it takes 6 of them. It will stop the knock but it will eventually start again. Many people dont pay attention to these but that is the famouse Polaris knock. Not a big deal. It wont ruin anything. It can just be annoying.

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

will these buttons make it dificult to get into gear... mine has issues right now and its tough to make it into high low and reverse... not every gear works in the knotch on the shifter piece... well I removed the cover to the belt drive... removed the belt still made nosie.. but if its in the cytrifical clutch assy then taking belt off wont help much... cause the clutch is still rotating when I started... I even reomved the little 3 little paw cams inside and it still rattled... so Im pretty sure its in the piston /crank assy.. I guess off to the dealer for pricing
