lukester,
yours isn't even close, the outlet of my exhaust is within 3/4 inch of my plastic. I put on the good aluminized heat tape, expensive tape. I'll see today as I'll be riding alittle. I have to test out the exhaust and the Unifilter combination, see if it makes any difference in either power or mileage....Hopefully I'll get out tomorrow to check the mpg....

where the outlet is close to my plastic, its just a small part that comes down off of the rear plastic that is perpendicular to the outlet, just a small surface, my light is also a few inches up....but I covered it....if it melts, I'll cut it off...lol

No problem, GE4X4 did remind me of the deflector in his post - I had forgotten that they offered one. I know I'm not as close as you are. A mech. said I didn't need the reflector when I put mine on - he was right. Good luck. It is gona be loud.

I went out and rode tonight. I have to say that the only difference I could feel with the Pure Polaris exhaust installed was on low end. On mid range and top end it appears to be about the same. Out of the hole seems to be more torque. Would probably work good for technical terrain and mudding.

Elkbow, Could it be that you would see more from the new pipe if you had an after market intake filter? I don't know seeing how it's an EFI? I truely don't know. I do know some people that have put them (K&N) on their fuel injected cars with mixed results. Would you say it was worth the $ to put the Pure Exhaust on an 700 EFI?

I have a Uni-fliter installed with the exhaust. I have a K&N sitting here also, but haven't tried it with the K&N.

If you are looking for quiet, then stick with the stock exhaust, the Pure Polaris exhaust is notably louder, not really loud, but louder.

I have to say for the price and the performance, it may not be worth it. Although, I have not played with the discs on the exhaust, which may be alittle more tunable, but don't think it would make much of a difference.

I've been told that if you put a pipe on these EFI quads they need to be re-mapped to get any real performance.

Makes sense. An EFI system can only compensate a little for extra fuel delivery, if at all. But sometimes the system also needs time to "relearn". Give it a few tanks and then try racing someone who does not have one. It is a small learning curve for the computer, assumming it is capable of change.

I bet if you put the power programer on it you would notice an improvement. Help you get that magical 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio number. Try a search on it too. Someone on here made a post about it

I have a picture of one on my 02' 700. It is a deeper sound (cool) but not much louder at all. I dont think I gained any power but not sure, i might need to rejet.
