troyer23j,,,the stock trim airbox will cause problems anyway,
cauze the engine with a pipe is in need to get a lot more air then
you need to put a filtercharger,no airbox, and for the water worry,
just put a pre-filter wear on your k&n so oil and water will not
going through the filter as well.

the air box mod is esentially removing the baffles of the stock air box and increasing the size of the snorkel inlet. you just cut it lower and insert what looks to be a 2.5inch piece of exhaust pipe.

do you go through deep water or are you worried about water splashing? I use a uni open and hve a 4 sided sheild made from some rubermade tuperware(disposable stuff). it sounds ghetto but works great. its almost a clone of the hpd alluminuim air box. it weights alot less then the stock air box whihc is pretty heavy.

i do ocasionaly go threw deep water... i can avoid it i'd give it up for preformance anyday... but i love to fly threw trails and fields etc...so im more worried about the ocasional rain... water splash and all that with the air box mod.

with the ritter cycles air box mod theres nothing to worry about it draws from the same spot as stock, it just draws more air.

Also take about a 1'' hole drill and drill a couple of holes in the box where the boot attatches. The air must go around the outside part of the box from the factory. Drilling the holes will help the air get more of a direct shot and also get more of it.

Stage 1 and a weisco piston is great. it'll cost abit more that $450 though, but well worth it. that is for a 20 over piston bore job and gaskets that is

Would putting a larger mouthed snorkel or modifing my airbox and rejetting make an improvement with my mods?
