Default Cleaning ATV

Hi, I have a 2001 polaris trailboss (I doubt that matters) and I have always wondered if it is ok to spray the ENTIRE ATV with soap and water? In the past I have just tried to avoid all of the switches on the dash, and the engine. Would it be ok to spray everywhere I can get with soap and water?

I usually spray my bike all over except the speedo because it sometimes fogs up. But on the other hand I have driven my bike in the pouring rain and it hasn't hurt any thing. I have also have had the buttons and switches freeze up when I've washed in the winter. So in general I wash every thing in the summer and am more carefull in the winter

when I wash the wife and I's quads I scrub the whole quad down with soap and water then rinse. I have even went as far as to take the composite luggage racks off to wash under them and get all the dirt stains off. I still haven't figured out what to use to get the engine area shining, cause you can't reach it with a wash mit or brush. is there something to spray on it to get it clean, maybe engine degreaser/cleaner?

I have had my 04 500 ho down to the frame and I mean just frame and motor all racks and plastic removed and power washed it put it all back together and had zero problems. Just use common sense around the swiches and electrical stuff

You will be fine with spraying everything. These machines are built to be waterproof.

Be careful with a pressure washer around the instrument panel and the zerks. The manuals says to grease afterwards and probably wouldn't hurt to ride it a little after to displace the water in the fittings.
