max rpm on a 500sp

Default max rpm on a 500sp

i got a question about the max rpms on a 500 ho,my brothers got a 04.5 his max is 6200-6300,i got a 04 and mine revs to 6900 to almost 7000,anyone have any idea why this is,is his not set up right or is mine reving too high.

Clutching will do this, if his alignment is off, It wont turn quite the RPMS because of drag.. Im assuming both are jetted the same, running the same filters, etc..

i sure would like to know what my 02 500ho should run and what is the max rpm it can run ?

Default max rpm on a 500sp

500 h.o. engine is max limit at 6800 rpm,or at 6800 the crank wear
out pretty fast,,,those are from dyno figures.
is'not not a high revving engine,you should drop some more weights on r
the primary to drop rpm to the stock max rpm output of the pipe to prevent over-revving or abuse.

i havnt got a pipe on it,all i have is a k&n filter

hey what are u using for a tach on the 4 strokes? and how do ya hook it up?
