Hey anyone out there thats undecided on which 4x4 to buy should check out the October issue of Dirt Wheels Mag. They have a shootout between Rubicon, SP 500, Mag 500 and Suzuki Quadmaster. Their conclusion was "If you want the fastest, most powerful, and best suspended automatic 500cc four-wheeler, the vote goes to the new and improvd Sportsman 500 HO." Its a very informative article, for those with a decision to make.

That article pushed me over the edge. I'll have a HO sportsman as soon as I get the AC sold. Hopefully a metallic colored one. I never could do it on the old sportsman, but this one has enough going for it to warrant a switch.

Andy, are you going for the HO or are you waiting for the 700?

I won't believe in the 700 myth until I see it. I will go for the 500 HO. A 700 will cost too much, and be too much overkill for me to ever consider. I think that anything over 600 is just too much. They should just quit trying to make them bigger and start changing features that they have already. Everything after that is marketing and sales. A lot of "my dad can beat up your dad" stuff. I'm almost satisfied with my AC 500. The power is there, just the little extra speed and a better 4wd system. Thats about it. I don't need anything that will do 70 mph. The ride, stability, and traction are the basic things that I look at now. Seems like an HO could satisfy that, and still be as fast as any current utility.
