NEvermind i just read it..gosh this sucks, the ds got beat in every aspect. I love my ds. I would like to see somone that has ridden a ds for more then 1 day ride that thing, then i bet that the ds would do better on track times. my example: The first week or 2 weeks on my ds, there is no way i could keeep up wiht anything , its so differnt to ride, and they expect to "jump right in" and expect to know how to ride it. Its a differnt machine, it requires a differnt technique. I want to be in that test..i want ot race a raptor! ANY OTHER COMMENTS?

I'm biased, just as you are, but I don't think that they could have any more, if even as much, time on a Raptor, than on the DS.
Since I've never rode a DS, please explain why it's so different to ride. If you're talking about having a lot of torque and getting used to it, the Raptor is probably as hard to get used to.
I haven't read the article, but hope to soon. If you like what you have, don't let an article get you down. Most every quad has some good points, some more than others. You know what you like about your quad and I'm sure that is why you bought it. Don't think twice about it just because of a magazine article.

The DS was a day and night difference for me. Riding 250's the majority of my life, which only weigh 300 to 350lbs. Then switching to a 650cc quad with another 100 to 150 lbs. on it!
I felt in control of my other quads 99% of the time. Whereas with the DS it still surprises me with it’s insane torque curve. Also, with the added weight more body English is needed in cornering (in my opinion).
I would compare it to driving an S10 then switching to a stadium race truck. It’s truly a new experience…a very pleasurable new experience.
People can talk all the trash they want about the DS, but I’m more than confident it’s money well spent for me!

The main difference in riding aDS650 compared to a machine with a weight of around 360 lbs is body english /positioning,throttle response/powercurve I know what 300exster,kawasakikid is saying in March I stopped riding my stock 250R and got my DS & I rode it every weekend & within aprox. 25 hours I was really getting comfortable on the new machine & its awesome torque ,stability and fantastic adjustable suspension I rode mainly on a practice tack. soon I was flying around the the track like no tomorrow throttle pinned in third gear, powersliding thru every turn, wide open right off the the top of 5ft. jumps gettin about 10ft up about 20-25 out everytime{not bad for old guy whoes only been riding for about 2.5 years}..taking full advantage of power , torque, stability & suspension theDS offers.IM not trying to say the DS is THE BEST out there but is a damn good machine & there is a difference.Just takes getting used to,If you get a chance to ride one GO FOR IT! Happy trails
