I am asking this for my neighbor who is having problems getting his Scrambler 90 to run correctly. It starts fine but has trouble at idle, it will stall out after sitting for a few seconds. When it does idle it seems way too high and then dies out. Also when at full throttle for about 20 second it will back fire. This is still at WOT and not on decel. He had the carb apart several times and says he cleaned everything out. He says he cleaned the jets for sure. I just haven't ever had this problem with any of the 2 strokes that I owned in the past. Is it possible that his oil injection system could be causing a problem?? Its funny but there just doesn't seem to be too many things to cause this. My first suggestion was to make sure the carb was cleaned out. He did this twice. He also just replaced the spark plug. He completly flushed the old gas out and ran new gas. And he ran it long enough to get the old out of the lines. He was running it for about 20 min. But every 30 seconds of so under throttle BAM and then back to running fine???????????? What do you guys think??? He said he mixed up some pre mix and poured it into the tank. He said it made it run bad. I told him that he was putting twice the amount of oil in that he needed.
