the power differences between the two really are unreal of just how much 77CC's do, the Dual Exaust lightens up the exaust pressure coming out and that adds a bit, the suspention was widend 1 1/2 inches to stableize the ride further, and the wheelbase was lengthined a bit. If you need an idea of how much torque this thing has, it uses an entirely different belt from the 700 EFI, its nearly twice as thick. wheelies can be popped in high gear, and in low you can pull right from the factory 1,500LBS. the power on this monster is just unreal, like he said, its almost scary, if your not carefull you can get into a world of trouble, and dont even think about buying a winch for this thing (unless your mudding) this thing has got so much power that it will pull you out of any trouble or hole.

spyder6,

I thought I read a few years ago that the 700 could only beat the 500 in a drag race by 2 to 4 lengths. Is this accurate?

I can't wait for someone to post the results of a drag race with the 700 efi and the 800 efi.

Have you lined up your 500ho with the 800?

Thanks for the info.

The 700carb and 500HO in 2002 were pretty close 0-30 (almost a tie) but after 30 the 700 would come alive and leave the 500 like it was setting still. When I got my first 700 in 02 me and a buddy that had a 03 500HO used to race almost everytime we rode, take off was close mid and top the 700 was WAY up there. For a 500, it is one bad ATV!

i didnt read that myself, but i wouldent doubt it, the 500 H.O. is the only quad in there entire sportsman line up to have a 4 valve DOHC (i think its a dohc) so you got some impressive power going on, but match the 500 up with the 700 EFI and theres a world of difference

Thanks for the info.

So the 700 efi will outrun a 700 carb?

On take off the 700EFI beats the 700carb for sure. On topend the 700carb may have a 1 or 2 MPH advantage...

I own a carbed 700 and my dad owns an EFI 700. When we drag, he gets a slight jump on me at the start but then stays the same distance apart until about 50 mph. Around that speed, he starts to creep away from me and tops out about 1-2 mph faster. He is also about 50 pounds heavier than I am. When I raced a 500 H.O., I beat him by about 1-2 lengths; not much. I was pretty suprised. By the way, the 500 is only a SOHC. Have fun with the 800. I can't wait to try one out.
