yeah i jsut took my firends 03 500 4X4 HO scrambler out tongiht(was to look for a deer but i liked to use the time as a test drive) and it was sweet....tons of tourqe and lots power....(same thing?) anyways i fell in love with it right there and then....but only one complaint...it seemed to have a...wait a minute...no complaints haha the thing ROCKS....i even took it threw some off camber sections and it never felt like it was gonna tip...

fly high and your never gonna die your gonna make it if you try....yeah yeah... have a cigar...nice one....but is there anything i should look for when buying my scrambler any problems from the factory???

no problems with my 02 yet,,,,,except the rear brakes arent that affective

the only problem with the new models(03 and up?) is that they did away with the fox rear shock. if you buy a newer one, i would recommend finding a rear shock from and 02 or older model.

other than that they are just baddass machines!!!!!

yeha i noticed the brakes werent the good but i just figured it was a becasue i was riding threw alot of water....

I have owned both and when I buy again I will get the 500. It feels heavier but for the way I ride I like the fact that I can chug up a steep grade vs blast up the same grade. The 400 doesn't chug very well. The 400 is quicker to respond feels lighter and you can break the rear tires loose easier and that helps to slide around turns. And one other issue is that no one wants to follow the 400 smoker. it may not be an issue for you but it may be for guy following you. In exchange for that crappy rear shock Polaris now puts the Predator rear brake caliper on the newer Scramblers.

by newer scrambler what years do u mean? mine is an 04 and the rears SUCK. the fronts will stop so damn quick it does a stoppie.

I hear ya there, my 04 has super like good front breaks and my rear foot break is shot, it doesnt work at all (i dont think it ever has[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]) but i have seen break kits so u can control the front and rear breaks individually by break levers, it would be nice but its definetly is not on my things to buy list
