I have a 2001 Xplorer 400, and once it is completely warmed up, there's a light squeaking noise coming from the front of the engine. Sounds like it may even be coming from the oil pump area. It goes away if you give it a little gas, but I'm stumped as to what it could be. Thanks for your help in advance.

Could it be the exhaust pipe connection? Springs or where it connects to the manifold? Had a machine that one of the springs was hooked to the wrong place and the pipe would rub the frame.

Walexa,
My new SP500 was making a similar noise. It would go away when i revved the bike. The day after I first noticed it, I raced Tazgrizz a few times then noticed coolant dripping from the weep hole in the water pump. I am not familiar with your bike or if it even has a water pump. I was told that the cooling system has some leftover teflon tape from the factory that made the seal go out.

I don't know if I believe that but the flushed the system and replaced the seal and I have been problem free since.

My 2000 325 Mag 4x4 does the same thing...maddening, isn't it? I haven't been able to pin it down but you've described it perfectly.
I share your pain.
