TIRE UPGRADE FOR POLARIS SPORTSMAN?
SIRJR76
you didn't say what year Sportsman, i'll assume it's 2005. my advice is to keep the stock tires. they are very aggressive and already 26".(same as my '05 SP500)
any bigger tire is a waste of $$ and eat-up A LOT of power. it really takes away from the fun factor. no spunk or snap. with bigger tires your son will think you bought him a slug and complain it's too slow!LOL!
my advice is to leave it stock.

TIRE UPGRADE FOR POLARIS SPORTSMAN?
Thanks guys for all of the help. I already have a 98 500. I have been looking for this for my son who only likes to mud with his cousin. He is not into speed and thrills. He is a very overly cautious boy. I swear he is going to be a cross walk guardian. I made the mistake of putting a lift on my 98 and have broken a few expensive CV's in my 6 yrs of owning it. I just want to know what is the best mud tire and what size will fit them.

TIRE UPGRADE FOR POLARIS SPORTSMAN?
For the last 3 and 1/2 years now. I bought from Highlifter a set of 4 itp magnum billet alluminum rims and a set of 4 27 inch mudbugs. The mud bugs are one of the lightest 6ply. tires with 1.3 inch lugs. and of course the alluminum rims are lighter then the steel rims. No there not as fantastic as say outlaws or mudzilla's or vampires. but they are lighter and still have very excellent mudding ability and with alluminum rims. only a teeny bit heaver then what I started with.. if, of course, you have a grand to kill.
highlifter sent me those tires all the way from lousiana to northern minnesota, so fast I could not belive it. They put the rims on the tires for me since I bought the full set, so I only had to pull off the old ones and put on the new ones. my dad bought my stock tires and rims. Rangerchet.... you could sell your stock tires and rims and recop some of the grand.
