Please Be Careful While Riding
#11
I just read a post listed under painting graphics & this guy is painting a picture on each side of his enclosd trailer showing a quad going down a trail leading over a cliff. Is it just me or are some people clueless. I'll bet if he knew someone who was injured badly or killed on a atv he wouldn't be painting that kind of thing . Luckily for him , he's far enough away from me that I'll never see that trailer, because self control might go out the window if I saw it . I personally think it's in poor taste & ignorant.

sorry to hear of all your losses, these types of stories make me appreciate buying a utility quad instead of a sport bike for the streets or even a fast sport quad. these stories also make you remember all the stupid things we've done on our quads and I for one will definetly think next time I want to ride like a fool or try to go somewhere alone. I usually don't go riding alone anyhow but sometimes I just get the itch and have to zip around the trails behind the house a few times to get the fever out.

the last time i cried was 4 months ago when my uncle died and the time before that was 3and a half years ago when my dad died so i obviously dont cry much and i must say that both of those stories brought tears to my eyes. when ever we hit new riding spots i always ride iwth someone and i always wear my helmet. well i always wear my helmet no matter what but i dont always ride with someone, i know i should but sometimes i just get bored and theres noone to ride with, im sorry for all of u that have lost someone, just remember it hurts now but life dosnt stop so get back out there and ride!!

I too could not help but to cry. I feel your pain Don. It must be tough losing a son. I have a 10 and a 14 year old. I worry so much for their safety when we ride that I have a hard yime enjoying the ride. We all do need to be very careful. Life can end soooo quick. I'm glad Don that you find peace thinking of your son while riding. God bless you and your family. Dobie

Hello Don49. I just read this thread. I am deeply sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you and your family. I truly meant no disrespect for yourself or your son. Please accept my most humble appologies.

Hi guys,
I've learned not to accept it, because it's unacceptible , but to get up every day & try to have as good a day as possible . Bryce GTX , there's no need to appologize for anything , you really didn't do anything wrong, that'a why I wrote about my son , so that people would think before they ride . I love riding, my oldest son rides & my 5 year old grandaughter rides ,they should & so shold anyone else who wants to. Drew wouldn't want people not to have fun, & he certainly didn't lve his life holding back not taking chances. He always wore my $500 helmet, and kevalar riding suit with all the protectors, but sometimes all that doesn't help . He was simply riding alone , in a strange place , & missed a turn . I talked to guys who were just leaving the quarry that day & stopped to talk to Drew & he was having a great time . Some of my best days are the days when I can get out & ride . I feel closer to him & more at peace when I'm doing the same stuff I know he was doing on any part of any given trail . Just pass the word to everyone you come across out there & maybe we can save a few who might otherwise be gone in a heartbeat . I've got a couple pictures of him on variour machines from age six to 16 that I'm going to put on my picture page & he's got a grin on his face in every single one . To all the others who lost someone close, find some comfort in the fact that that person woldn't ant us to lay down & die , rather would want us to continue as before , with just a hint of caution . This is a great hobby & you guys on here are the best medicine for those of us going through rough times . So ride like you stole it ,but think when you do ,lol !
thanks for all the kind words,
Don
