I will take some close up pics today after I get out of work and post them tonight. Elkbow where did you purchase your windshield? I would like one for winter plowing but would like to take it off for summer. this is one of the reasons I'm dissappointed with the guards. will the windshield work with the guards?

I'll agree that Polaris shouldn't have used the name Lock N' Ride with these hand guards, since they don't come off without tools. The directions that came with my hand guards were kind of useless. It probably took me at least 20 minutes to put them on. I really like these hand guards though. The only reason I got them is to keep the wind off my hands in the winter, and they work really well for that. I got red to go with the color of my machine.
As far as the 20 minutes to put them on I could care less. When I work on my machine I usually take a lot of time, that's my time to get away from work, kids, and the wife. Turn the radio on crack open a beer and I'm good to go.

I don't mind spending the time to work on stuff it's just 20 minutes to install a set of hand guards is stretching it. I think the thing that upset me the most that they didn't just snap on/off like the windshields is that I wanted to be able to remove them when woods riding. but they are nice still and do keep the wind/water/mud etc off your hands while riding. the notch taken out of the guards I think was just for looks, they are alot nicer to look at than the old style smooth guards and cheaper too.
