Very impressed with SP800!!!

I've had many Sportsman's through the years and have been happy with them all. When the 700 first came out tho I was one of the first to take one for a spin. I came back from the ride not to impressed. You all might remember my post on that topic a few years ago. But for a 700 I thought the power was lacking. Well I just picked up my 800 and this thing just floored me on power. I have NEVER had a Polaris (other then the Predator) that would lift the front end without pulling on the bars hard. This 800 with just a stab of the gas will lift the front with ease. My KQ on pavement in high range will not lift the front without help. The 800 lifts allmost as easy as my V-force did. Very impressed!!. Also as a side note, many say the 800 is huge and wide at the feet. Well It's parked right next to my KQ and it actually looks smaller. And the width at the feet is less then a 1/2" compared to the KQ. The KQ plastic is a little higher so thus looks bigger. So sitting on both my legs feel the same. Also the specs on the Polaris web site are not quite right either. They say it's only 46" wide. Well the front is that wide, but the rear is 48" wide. So the 800 should be very stable. I will be weighing both in wet weight's some time tonight or tommorow just to see how close they are to there specs. Then I will weigh both with no tires on. This will give a true weight difference between the two. Then once weather gets a bit better I will be doing a 300' time and speed run between the two. The quad that does the best in my shootout will be my 05 GNCC race quad.

a K&N air filter for your 800 will give it about 6 more MPH top end and noticeable bottom end grunt, if you just use the airfilter without the precharger (bag mesh that goes around the air filter which comes stock on your 800) you'll get even more power as the mesh is pretty restricting. and then, if you take the airbox lid off you could probebly get some more power, but i havent seen any noticeable difference by doing so.
