i've looked at them, but haven't picked one up yet, still looking for a better deal than the ones on ebay....

I do carry a cell phone, but it only works in certain area's that I ride....I know where I was this weekend...I went 25 miles from the truck, absolutely nothing between me and my truck...the phone only worked in one location about 15 miles out....I know from riding and hunting there in the past.....I keep thinking it would suck to have to walk that far back to my truck....doesn't bother me except for the time and I always carry water, space blanket, lighter, etc....its just that this area has a bunch of Mountain Lions....just don't trust them damn things....

If you use low range like Polaris recommends, when in slow riding or heavy loads , the belt should last a long time. My SP 600 has a lifetime warranty, yours should too, of course that doesn't mean much when it breaks out in the middle of no where.

my belt shredded at 134 miles, and the lifetime warranry you speak of on your belt only covers the first one. you pay for all the rest.

I run the heelclicker, which gives you a bit more grip. However it did not stop a friend from putting it on a large rock climb in High range and letting it sit there and bog for about 5 seconds..I havent changed the belt yet, but it defintitley engages about 150-200 rpms higher now. My top speed is around 56 MPH. Obviously this little stunt wore on the belt, but Im not changing it yet. I have about 800 miles on it now, and I also tried out the Clutch kit by tying it to a tree in High range and spinning all 4 tires. Im fairly certain without this little bit of abuse, It could reach near 2000 miles or so.

1200 and 1300 miles on both of our '04 SP700s and no problems. I have not inspected them yet but I have not noticed any problems or a decrease in top speed.

I smoked my belt on my 2002 Sportsman 500 HO 1st thing in the woods about 20 miles on it. got hung up on a downed tree that i tried jumping(not the smartest move) the smoked it again at 100 miles and around 400 now i have over 500 on it and it jerks when taking off and lost about 6 miles on top end. I have tried the dayco belt on my 94 trail blazer and had good luck on it

I cant really say anything about the boots (knock on wood) but I got A arm guards when I bought mine and have ran over more sticks than you can shake a stick at lol. I am curently thinking about upgrading my clutch and belt.

I have a few questions hope somebody can answer.
I now have an idea on belt life, and how to extend it. What I don't quite understand now is the clutch issue.
How many clutches does the tranny have (1 or 2), and where is it? On the input side or the output?
How many belt changes can a clutch take? Is it like a motorcycle wet clutch (multiplate), or more like an automotive dry-type (like my BMW bike). Just curious how long one lasts, and how hard is to replace.
Thanks gang.
