I can't remember what I got the down pipe from I belive it was laying around the garage. I can measure the size if you want its just a regular pipe with a bend in it. The stock jet is a 155 I tried a 157.5 its to small so I'm going to get a 160,162.5,165 and maybe a 167.5.

If I could of bought a 500 with EFI I would of. For utility and hunting use I think bigger machines simply consume more fuel, And that is very important when you have to carry enough to last you for 10 days. My 6x6 weighs probably 950 pounds with a winch and fuel. I never once thought it was under powered for utilty use. I just wished it was EFI.

I think it was around an inch in diameter. I upgrade to a K&N when I bought mine new and love it.

moosehunter
to deck-out a Sportsman700 i'd like to see a turbo-charged one. turbo's use exhaust pressure and no belts or pullies. cheap horsepower. carb version only of course.

why not a turbo?

Has anyone tried running a 42mm carb on a 700? If so, what was the gain?

Remember guys whatever you do to the carbed version of the SP 700s they will still be governed by the ECU limiter. 40mm BST carb. sounds like great potential. Not sure how the airbox fits or the carb mount but hey what the heck tweaking the motor is intriging and sometimes very rewarding. Kudos to Sportsman70003!
