I thought was on 'L' when I briefly test-rode the 800: 4K rpm or so at 25 man. Don't know how long the engine is going to last like that. I also wonder what's the redline on the 700 and 800. Probably lower on the 800 since it's a stroked-out version of the 700. I think the 500 has DOHC, isn't it? That'd rev much higher for sure. Plus the tiwns have hydraulic lift adjusters, which can't rev much higher than 6K (I don't care, as long as no valve adjustments are needed).
Don't think a clutch kit will fix it, since it's the way the tranny is designed. I'll follow this thread to hear from the experts.

The stock clutching is optimized to keep the engine in it's most efficient RPM range over a wide variety of speeds. You can expect 4500-6000 rpm for most riding conditions. I'm not sure of the exact power curve, but this range is where the engine makes the most power. The Fuji motors are designed to operate at these rpms, so I would not worry about engine fatigue.
