Default choke doesnt work??? 04' scrambler

when its cold my 04' scrambler is a bitch to start. i think its because the choke doesnt do anything. you have to sit there and crank it till it starts then it stalls right alway. after the start/stall process it runs fine. what could be the problem? i tried searching about it and its not frozen i can move the choke but it doesnt have any effect on anything. i dunno if this could be anything but to me it feels like the choke is only coming half way out. all the other chokes i have seen come out longer then mine does.

i got the same issue with my scrambler... It has to run in choke for 15 mins if not more therefor killing the spark plugs. I have had it serviced many times but it still has most of the tech baffled. Kinda sucks. Polaris had the same issue with the Sportsman 600 series in 04' bu they just recalled it to rejet the quads. No news on the Scrambler 500's though.

Okay I dont know if this applys to the Scrambler I will look up the breakdown of your carb to make sure. BUT I had the same problem with my choke on my pred. Water and dirt gets in to the carb from the rubber boot around the choke cable. What ends up happening is your choke plunger gets corroded and is now stuck in the carb. I had to remove my carb and work the corrosion out. Once I got the plunger out and cleaned up good as new. Only I lost the spring on for the plunger I have to order a new one. Anyway, I hope that helps.
