Default Help Me Get My Pred Set Up FOr THe SUmmer Correctly.

Well I got a 2004 TLD pred with just a K&N filter and a Pure Polaris Slip On. I am planning on buying a CDI in the spring and that will be it for mods.

My questions are :

What should I have for jetting? I live in winnipeg, Manitoba and my jetting is currently stock.

How many discs should i have on the pipe? If any.

Should I mod the air box?

Answers to those questions will be much appreciated and any other opinions are welcome as well.

If you have the extra money, I would go with the Rath K&N Intake, and the Rath Header. The CDI Box will be a big help, I would order the one off of Nicholas Cycle for $158.00 I have heard it's the best bang for the buck. As soon as he makes one for the 05......I will have one. I have the turn down tip and like it alot better then the disks, you can also get that from Nicholas Cycle. The carb mod makes a big difference also. I would start out with a 160-165 main jet.

If you call Doug he will be able to help you out alot more on the jetting, and he has been on the money every time on the jetting for me. I hope this helps out.

I agree with everything Raj said.......but I'll reorder it.........

Nicholas Cycle Carb mod
Mod the airbox(drill 4 1" holes in rear of it, under where filter seals).......or if you have the $$ get a rath intake kit($150)
--------------------------->After this is done, take the disks out, and you carb should come jetted pretty close too!!!

Next, I'd get the cdi from nicholas or the rath header.....up to you there, both are about the same benifit!!!

thanks for all the input guys, how much of a gain should i notice with these mods? i ride with a raptor, 400ex, and just recently a buddy picked up a 04' grey predator brand new. All there bikes are stock, the raptor is soon to have a pipe on it.

Well stock for stock the pred will beat or be even with everything you are riding with now.......once the rappy pipes it, he shouldn't be any faster than your already piped pred........

The airbox mod, and carb mod will really wake that pred up............believe me, this stuff works!!!!! I wouldn't waste any money unless it was on this!!!!

The header......2-3hp(which is quite a bit)
nicholas cdi.......no hp, but more rpms......which might make more hp....??......
