What would you do?

I bought a 1997 Sportsman 500 from a kawasaki dealer and they told me that they had changed the oil, plug, oil filter and air filter and some other stuff. Anyways I drove the Sportsman about 10 miles and thought that maybe I should check the oil, to my surprise no oil showed up on the dipstick, I was very upset, so I went ahead and put a quart of 5w30 Valvoline in it so I could take it to my local polaris dealer I would have taken it back where I got it but they were closed. Anyways I had the polaris dealer change the oil and filter and they checked the air filter and the thing was torn and very dirty, should I take this thing back to the dealer and get my $2700 back or should I give them a chance to make it right. And also could the engine be damaged in anyway from riding it 10 miles on little or no oil. I hate to give it back though because I really like the sportsman and worried that I may not find another in my price range.
What do you think?
Thanks

Rob,
I would just confront the dealer on the issue. I doubt there was any damage, the machines pump the oil, so even if there was alittle in there it was probably enough to lubricate the motor,,,,if there wasn't you would know. If all is fine after the oil change, then just keep the machine. See if the dealer your bought it from will give you anything...
Could be a confusion or just a lie from the dealer that you got it from. Most dealers change oil and filter on used machines as well as do a thorough inspection. Take your receipt from the other dealer in there and show them....they will probably reimburse you for the service.....
