Since I'm getting ready to be an owner in the next couple of days, I've been reading alot of your posts and checking out ya'lls pics and web pages. All I have to say is, some of the places some of you take your bikes, I'd have prefered to have my boat! It's amazing to me that you dunk these things like a submarine and they seem to love it. You drop off into a mudhole up to your chest, and you come out the other side without to much difficulty. I gotta ask why and how you can take a hot engine, and submerge it in cold water and mud, and not crack the block.
I'm amazed - thanks for all the pics. I can tell already that my new Polaris' ability, will be capable of far more than its owner will.

You have come to the right place Houndog! Some of the guys in here are maniacs. "Mud crazy" and "Mod crazy". That about sums us up.

Of coarse I am much less of a maniac than a lot of guys here!?

Houndog,

Cast iron, cooled down quickly from a hot temperature may have a tendency to crack, but aluminum has different properties, and from what I understand about metallurgy, will never crack from being cooled down too quickly.

It is only a matter of time before you are swimming your quad like the rest of us. Just do the proper maintenance and it WILL LAST. Grease and keep the oils changed and they will take the abuse!

For some of us, we are indeed "MAINE-iacs"! You are right. I have even had my trail blazer in some spots that would be better to be in with a fishing pole.

Hey there Dave -
I've decided on the Magnum 325 4x4 with the optional coast guard approved life vests, since I'm hangin' out with a bunch of deep sea divers.
Actually, I won't ever be taking the chances that ya'll take, cuz I'm probably twice as old as most of you, and it would take me twice as long to heal. Don't worry - I'll be just as happy to be sittin' on the banks, watching you guys get crazy, keepin' the beer cold and servin up the lunch.
