what kind of improvements are you referring to?
Things the factory should have done or aftermarket improvements to increase the performance/suspension/electrical/etc

In the sportsman series;

I would like to see a three speed transmission:
L - 0 to 10 MPH for towing or deep mud.
M- 0 to 30 MPH for trail riding.
H - 0 to 60 MPH.

Center mounted sway bar disconnect ... i would love to see one handle that i could pull to unlock the sway bar and push it in to relock it.

Adjustable front springs ... just like in the rear.

Add the ATP's truf mode.

Factory nerf bars.

Move the radiator to the upper rear ... help to keep it out of the mud.

Now don't get me wrong ... i love my Sportsman 500HO ... just like to see continued improvements.

Thanks,

If i have the hand warmers on the lights will dim alot ... if the hand warmers off, yes they dim ... but are fully bright at 1480 rpm. If you drive alot at night it's a great mod ... now it's winter all i seam to do is drive at night. NOTE with the hand warmers on and all three headlights on it's draining the battery at idle ... so i turn off the high beam at idle, that seams to keep the battery from draining.

I would like to see Polaris do away with the reverse overide. Since I know they probably won't due to a liability safety issue, it would be nice if they could put the gauge pod controls on a seperate switch so the consumer could disable it on his own.
#2 While I love my 04.5 SP500H.O. I wish the plastic fit together a little better and didn't scratch so easily. I have the cosmic blue and it looks awefull where your legs rub on it. They say the 2005's are improved though?
#3 the 3 headlight conversion with swichable low on and off like Dave does would be nice stock.
#4 make the brake pedal work like a full rear brake. Mine has almost no stopping power. Only good for changing gears.
My next machine will no doubt be another Sportsman though. Hopefully an EFI 500.

I quick hint on reducing and/or preventing scrathes on plastic's. After washing I always spray Armeral over the whole machine and wipe it down. It makes it look brand new and the dirt and mud falls off. It also doesn't scratch even in heavy brush. Try it

EFI on the 500 HO. A little more power from the voltage regulator for running handwarmers, GPS, and all of the other electronic toys out there. A real foot brake, not just a shifter lock out. anti-vibe rack mounting (maybe some rubber gaskets to settle some of the vibes).
