Default Plowing Report on new 800

Plowed for the first time today with new machine.
Really impressed! Just like a tractor. Works great with winch control on left hand and shifter on right. I have a Kimpex 48" blade and was a little concerned that I would be riding on plowed snow when blade was at a 45. This was not the case. Also, super traction.
Bring on the snow!

glad your 800 is performing so well! that baby must plow like a 10 wheeler! LOL!

i to am enjoying plowing. i wondered if my 500 would be able to plow as well as my old 700EFI....and it does!

Glacier set-up works well. 60" blade works perfect for my type of plowing.

Thanks,

60" huh, must be nice. Can you push a 60" in your heavy Mass. snow storms, or do you need to high pass first? Do you use chains?

I looked at the Glacier V-plow, but decided to stick with mine, they wanted $800 cdn. Looks like a nice set up, I like the Glacier mounting system. With mine you have to get under the ATV to attach the assembly. Once attached it works well though.

Happy plowing! First time in my life I looked forward to clearing the driveway!

mtpockets, how did you find the switch from a 700EFI to a 500HO???

was it a big shock, or was it a no lost???

I have a 60 in glacier plow on my 04.5 600 and it works great. never had a problem with any amount of snow up to 8in (largest storm we have had) Great system if you like to trail ride in the snow with you plowing machine.

i don't have chains. plows just great without them. i never 'high-pass', don't need to. one thing i like is how well the Glaicer cuts right down to the blacktop, no fooling around skimmimg the surface. the storms we received were 5-7" with a somewhat heavy crust on top. i'm very pleased with 60".

i think there was a topic not long ago on the guys that went from a larger cc. to a smaller. my feelings are no regrets. for my type of ATV usage, the 500 is perfect. the only drawback i can think of is having to fiddle with a choke for the first 3 min of start-up when cold. the plusses far out-weigh the minus though.
