This will start a flame on here, but here we go. I ride with a 01 Raptor.....and I could beat him every time. I put a Alba Pipe on the Raptor and it screams now. It is 50/50 on who wins. I guess whoever gets the hole shot wins the race. It's going to be hard to get the torque of the Raptor, thats why I went to a 40 tooth rear sprocket.

The '03's had some tranny problems...the '04s fixed that, the '05's have reverse...

 

Been reading reviews and other posts all day and I got it narrowed down to either gettin the 2004 Troy Lee or the 2005 basic Predator. Which one do you think is more reliable and overall better?

Hard to tell which is more reliable..There still to new on the market. I never got a chance to ride the 05 STD..got to ride the 04 STD and felt comfy on it.

Bought the TLD cause of the shocks and tires.

 

they always note 'make sure you ask for the OTD price' on all things, so they list it,,,,but not sure if it actually is....if you are out of state and don't have to register your machine in the state you are in, then thats the price....here in New Mexico, we have to register, so its 3% tax and registration fees....ripoff....we even get plates, but they're not street legal...I leave mine in my rear storage compartment on my sportsman...

 

I've ridden my buddys 05 troy lee and its sweet compared to my 03. the bars are noticably more comfortable at the end of the day of trail riding. the reverse is almost a must when in the woods or mud holes. his suspension was nicer but I think if I soften the rear of my 03 it would be compairable. My 03 seemed just a bit quicker off the line and ended just a smidge faster than the 05 but not sure if it's more because of the riders or the machines. Personaly I would take an 05 for the extra comfort but if money is an issue the 03 or 04 wouldn't disapoint you . Good luck

 

Yea I agree tatertodd cause I'm sure I"ll be happy with whatever one I get, the only bonus to me is the reverse on the 05.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
