Phoenix review.

Pheonix review.
I spent over an hour at my dealer today looking at and riding the Phoenixs they had.(A red and a blue).
They let me ride it quite a bit. I spent about 10 minutes just riding it. (ran it out of gas-oops). The rest of the time was looking it over and talking about it. Here is what I thought.
Pros:
1. This is a decent quad. It is not the usual Taiwanese junk.
2. I like the shaft drive.
3. It seems to be well developed and thought out.
4. The size is that perfect in between size. About on par with a Blaster in size. Not much smaller than the
Rally seat height and handle bar height.(if tire size was the same the rest would be too)
5. The front brakes work very well.
6. The shift lever is easy to use and reach.
7. This is a sturdy unit. They spared no steel in the making. Which is a con as well.
8. It feels safe especially due to lack of power.
9. The tires are good for this quad. Some nice wheels would really set it off.
10.It employs a daytime running light as well as hi and low beams.
CONS
1. It is heavy. (it is sturdy)
2. The rear drum brake was terible. At least on the unit I tested.
3. The power is good. Not great. I could not make it wheelie for anything. I do believe Rick can easily open
it up. I'm not sure wether it's in the clutching, carb, CDI, pipe, or all of these. The carb is tiny so that may
be a good start.
4. The brake levers are adult sized and could be hard for small hands to use.
OVERALL
I am pleased with what I saw. I was getting a bad feeling before I saw it, but now am pleased. I would be happy buying this for my 11 year old daughter. If she was in to racing or a really agressive rider I might look elsewhere. If you have a 15 year old ready to move up you won't want this quad. I will most likely talk the wife into getting one for my little girl. I don't think I would pay any more than MSRP for what it is. I will do my best to pay less than MSRP or look at something else.
Anybody else have a review. I'm guessing Rick has his by now as well. What say you Rick?
