Is it possible to put a plow on my explorer? Will it work very good? How big could I go?

The 300 xplorer will push alot of snow, I have a neighbor that has the same quad and a 48" plow that he has been plowing with for several years. Those little 2 strokes have alot of power. I have a 60" plow on my foreman and other than his being a foot narrower he seems to plow just as well as I do.

Before I bought my Scrambler I used a Yamaha Timberwolf 250 2x4 with a 48"Cycle Country plow , chains & about 100 lbs on the rear rack & did pretty good.

I have an '01 400 Xplorer with a 48" plow and I haven't had a problem moving snow yet. We had 8" of snow last week and it moved it with no problems and no chains on the tires.

Hello jayri. I also plow with my Trailblazer. See my pics. I also use chains. Works great. Although I haven't plowed anything over about 6 inches.

I have the 2000 lb. Warn winch and the 48" plow kit from Warn. I had the winch already but I bought my plow kit from www.rcsoffroad.com. From the time I placed my order until the time I received it was about a week. Very easy folks to deal with. They have plow packages that include the winch and plow or you can buy them each separately. My set up works great for what I need it for. Installation of the plow took less then an hour and it's very simple to hook up when you need to use it. Definitely check out the different brands that are out there and see which one will work best for you. I'm happy with what I got.

One other thing you may want to consider once you've ordered your plow is spring spacers for the front springs. There are a lot of different spring spacer suggestions on this forum to consider. My front end would sag pretty bad when I would lift the plow so I bought two sets of spring spacers from Polaris (1 set on each front spring, check out my pics) and they made a world of a difference. When I don't have the plow on and I'm riding, I can't tell the difference from before I had them on until after.

How do you install the spring spacers?
