Default Another 700/800 comparison ?

as long as there isnt any engine changes to the 800s im sticking with mine, but as soon as the 900 or the 1000 comes out, the 800 is going for a trade in.

If you are debating the two, as I did-- I went with what I wanted -- the 800. Why? Because I wanted to get something that I didn't regret later. If I would have bought the 700, which is great, had one before.. I would have wished to get the 800 which is the biggest baddest. Want to have the biggest baddest? Get the 800. There IS a difference.

The 700EFI will do everything you need but if your going to buy it and look to make it better or faster with aftermarket products you might as well get the 800!

As for the 500Ho being fairly equal to a 700 thats what I've heard but not experianced. My 700 carb walked away from a '05 500 ho from a stop to a rolling start. Not even close. It might not have been running right.
