Default 250 Trailblazer

Well I bought my son a 250 Trailblazer last year (it’s a 2003) and its time to upgrade! He is 16 and has experience, to a point! He rode my 400 Scrambler (2000) without any trouble but I new it was way to much power for a 13 year old at the time. So it went and I got a 500 and now a 700 Sportsman also.

Bottom line…… he now has the power of the 250 well under control and its pipe time!

Can anyone tell me why I should pay $500+ for the Hot Seat speed kit over the $325 stage 1 Rick Ritter kit? They both are clutch, pipe, jet and air filter?!?

Is one better then the other? What kind of power gain will his 140 pound butt see?

Any help……….. thanks!

Mark

theres no reason to pay that much. dont do it. buy the stage one or the hpd pipe and clutch kit. both are much better. the RCR kit is your best bang for the buck and then u can have rick, bubba or dennis port it and slam on a 34 mm carb from a scrammy and itll haul. and lighten the flywheel. it all sounds like alot but u can get a carb for 50, have bubba do a nice trail port for 150 , flywheel lightening for 100 bucks then maybe oil injection block off for 25 bucks. itll haul with all that. u can pick and choose from all those to suit your needs but anyway u look at it, theres a big improvement over stock.

Bore the thing .080 over, get a nice carb, get a k&n filter, modify the airbox, put on a dg, fmf, or whitebrothers exhast, put in v force reed valves, mod the clutch (lighten it for faster rpm) ,and add a fuel optimizer. Let me tell you that baby will scream!!

Why would you want to bore it .080 over? And stay away from fmf or dg for exhaust stick with the guys that know polaris. Also he woudlnt be able to get v force reeds if he doesnt have the reed conversion done because 250 TB's dont have reeds stock. Ive never heard of lightening the clutch either? Stick with what mudmaster250 said to do.

I'll tell ya what. A friend of mine has a 2000 TB & it hauls out! It has no problem keeping up with my Banshee. He has an Edelbrock Performer RPM hi-rise intake, topped off with a Demon 1050 cfm 4 barrel, Lunati High-Energy bracket race cam ( .625 intake\.670 exh. ) Keith Black 14:1 pistons, 2.02 fuelie heads ( chambered & decked ) Melling high volume oil pump, MSD ignition, Hooker 2" full-length headers, & dual Flowmaster 3" exhaust dumping just before the rear axle. Actually, a friend of mine does have a 2000 TB250 & it has an HPD pipe, clutch kit, K&N with proper jets & it does do quite respectfully against my 500 Scrambler & the Banshee thru about 3rd gear. It still doesn't top out over probably 45-50, but it gets there in a hell of a quicker way. It'll keep him happy for awhile again, but then it'll be, "dad..... think we could look around for a different quad for me??" Unless you plan on keeping it for long time, consider a bigger quad, rather than dumping alot of Benjamins into it.... IMHO. Just a thought.
