I have a 97 sportsman 500 that I suspect the compression limiter isn't working but it could be my starter is weak. The pull starter is next to impossible to pull. Does anybody have a good site to go to to get engine specs. I need to know what is the normal reading when doing a compression check on the engine.

 

check your valve lash. If its too loose it won't let the compression release open the ex. valves...
