Default 50 hr checks

oops,

I just hit my 50th hour and was wondering what all should be done for the 50 hour services. I changed my oil and oil filter at 20 hours. I have not had any problems thus far, but want to do the routine services to keep it that way. I own the official service manual and don't feel like paying someone else $60.00/hour to do things I can do. So what all needs to be taken care of? Thanks in advance.

At 50 hours i would change all fluids ... if you do it your self should be under $60 for all fuilds and around $100 if you flush the radiator. cheap peice of mind IMO.

I am getting a factory service manual for a 2005 500 for 39.95 from a Polaris dealer. He had to order it. I plan on doing all servicing myself.

The manual tells you everything you need to know. Sit down and read it front to back

I would do everything, and actually more often than the 50 hours....I've never had problems with my machines as I change fluids often...its cheap....

Change your engine oil and filter....
Change your front differential fluid....
Change your rear differential fluid....
Change your transmission fluid....
Put grease in your grease fittings....

Go through your machine and check all bolts and nuts that you can get to for tightness.....
Check your brake pads....
Verify your cooling fluid level is correct....
Check your brake fluid levels is correct....
Doesn't hurt to put in a new spark plug....with correct gap....
Make sure your air filter is clean and good, if not replace....

Thanks everyone!

I am going to get started this morning, but first need to crank up the heat in the garage. Thanks again.
