question about the pred
#1
hows the troy lee compare to the new 450's? im a die hard polaris fan but had a 400ex before the pred came out, im not lookin for a faster sport quad. the tl pred really looks sick. i also saw a 50th anniversary at my dealer and that things pretty smokin. my question is how do they compare to the new 450's? thanks

I think they just is good if not better, I know the yfz is a hole king...but do some sprocket changing and so will the Pred. And the 05 has reverse, and the 450's don't. And the Pred comes with even more goodies.

You will get there alot faster on the TLD, it is geared down. I love my Std. Pred. I would say go ride both and see what you think. If I was you I would either go with the Std. because it has reverse, and it red also, the Dale Jr don't have reverse....or the TLD.

I am in the same boat I cant decide 450s or pred. Everyone I have talked to says the 450 are fast hands down?

Predator pros- reverse, more displacement, higher top speed. 450's about 60 lbs lighter than Pred, faster take off, and better race machines.
I say try and ride all 3 then decide. If you can't ride all 3 read everything you can on all 3 then make your decision.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the 450's are better racers. maybe better mxer's. But in cross country the advantage would go to the pred.
As for weight difference. Has anyone ever weighed. A fully fueled and oiled 450 against a fully fueled and oiled predator.
Remember, if you went purely by numbers then the raptor should weigh less then the predator. But it doesn't as several people on here can attest to. I'm sure the 450's weigh less, but not as much as some have stated. Especially when all the machines are equally prepped for racing. The predator already has stronger components the the 450's, thus the huge so called difference in weight between the 450's and the pred.
If someone would just weight them instead of going by manufacture numbers, this issue could be put to rest.
